Myton Food Group have become the latest local business to champion North East Lincolnshire’s young people by joining Horizon Youth Zone’s family of Founder Patrons.
Myton Food Group have 19 manufacturing sites across the UK, with two sites in Grimsby, they are passionate about supporting their community. Their decision to become a Founder Patron will see them contribute to the charity’s annual running costs, furthering their support for Horizon Youth Zone.
Myton have worked closely with Horizon over the past 18 months, providing some exciting opportunities for the Youth Zone’s Young People’s Development Group (YPDG) before the centre opened.
Members of the YPDG were invited to take a tour of the factory, learning the process for how different fish is made and packaged. They also took part in a tasting session and were shown how to fillet a fish. After, the young people presented to members of staff, showing their vision of Horizon Youth Zone, that Myton are now helping to keep a reality for thousands of children and young people.
The Myton team then tasked the YPDG with creating their own fish-based snack product with the opportunity to present their idea to the team, giving young people to opportunity to learn valuable skills and the chance for their ideas to come to life.

Their enthusiasm, confidence and creativity really came through and made it a fantastic experience for our team too.

Horizon Youth Zone is delivered in partnership with OnSide, North East Lincolnshire Council and supported by several businesses and philanthropists. The Founder Patron campaign aims to achieve long-term, sustainability, to ensure Horizon Youth Zone will be an asset to the community, transforming young people’s lives for generations to come.
Since opening, Horizon has been visited more than 28,500 times by young people from across North East Lincolnshire, giving them somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to, with over 20 activities available for each session. These include an indoor climbing wall, four-court sports hall, music room with recording studio, and the training kitchen. Horizon continues to focus on raising a growing family of Founder Patrons and urges local businesses and philanthropists to join the Founder Patron family.
