Grimsby born and having lived in the region for most of his life, Mike takes real pride in seeing the continued development of the social and economic growth of North East Lincolnshire.
Mike’s professional background is largely in the seafood processing industry, mainly with Youngs Seafoods and associated companies – a key and important sector in Grimsby’s local ecomony. Now semi retired, Mike has retained an interest in the food sector including Directorships in the Pork, Chicken and Salmon farming businesses.
In addition to this, Mike is a Trustee of a number of charities, most with an underlying theme of social inclusion. He has also served as Chair of the Grimsby Institute and Vice Chair of the former Humber Local Enterprise Partnership.
Married with a son, outside of work Mike has a real passion for watching live sport – football, cricket and rugby. He also enjoys reading, travel and current affairs.
